Lake Saimaa is Finland’s largest lake. Dotted with over 13,000 islands surrounded by clear, fresh water, the scenic landscapes don’t go unnoticed. With rare wildlife and local delicacies along with an abundance of outdoor activities, it’s a beautiful destination to experience in winter. While on our trip around the impressive Lake Saimaa we stayed in some incredible resorts, tasted wonderful delights and experienced a lot of snow!

Our morning at Penmon Point was packed with wild beauty, wonderful sea views, and memories we’ll never forget. Standing on the pebbled beach, Brock squealed with excitement at the sight of a pod of dolphins swimming into the distance. The warmth from the soft sunrise, which was starting to rise above the mountains, hit our faces as we watched them glide through the water. Right at the same time, we met a pair of inquisitive seals by the shoreline with a cormorant following them from above.
