We headed up north to the county of Northumberland, situated in the North East of England. Our trip lasted 4 days and each day was started with a very early morning hike with the reward of a waterfall at the end of it. I personally think that every day should start like this, alas we, living in the South East of England, don’t really have waterfalls at all.
We love Scotland because you can drive for hours without seeing a single car and never get bored of the scenery. The people are friendly, the whisky is outstanding and the landscapes are stunning. So here are 12 reasons to add Scotland to your bucket list.

The “City of Rocks” or “ Tiské Stény” in Czech, is a natural landmark and tourist attraction in the western region of Bohemian Switzerland. Narrow walkways lead to steep staircases which take you to a system of vertical crevices and a dense network of rocks. These sandstone pillars are as tall as 30 metres high and stand out from the dense forest surrounding them.
With miles of scenic trails through lush woodlands, island-dotted lakes and gently rolling landscapes, Keji is the perfect place for outdoor lovers. Learn about the Mi’kmaq culture, immerse yourself in the flora and fauna and camp under the stars in Nova Scotia’s only Dark Sky Preserve. It’s here in Keji that you can connect with not only nature but also culture and be drawn into the beauty the park has to offer.
When in Asia we were desperate to go to an elephant sanctuary and meet the gentle giants! I have always loved elephants but never had the chance of meeting one, I love watching documentaries about how intelligent and caring they are and how they look after their families. So this is why we did our research to find an ethical sanctuary in Thailand to visit.
During our trip to Thailand we came to Khao Sok National Park in the Surat Thani Province for two days. We stayed on the Cheow Lan Lake at a resort called the Phutawan Raft House. The lake is surrounded by a large number of limestone mountains and the deep water of the lake and the green algae turn the colour of the water a beautiful emerald green, nothing like we have ever seen before!
